WHALESHARK SEASON 2010
We are now well into the Whaleshark season here in Exmouth on Ningaloo Reef with great daily success on our Whaleshark tours. With 100% sightings we have now had over 200 different swims with whale sharks this season. With an average of 3 different sharks a day our customers have been thrilled with the experience.
The sharks vary from the inquisitive 2-3 meter sharks to the enormous 8 meter sharks that cruise on by in search of plankton. After a recent ECOCEAN update, data collected from both the tour operators and their own independent research show that the whale shark population is on the increase here along the Ningaloo Reef with more juvenile sharks visiting the region then seasons before. This is great news not only for us but the whale shark population as well!!
Things are only going to get better as we are now starting winter. Manta Rays have been spotted for the last few weeks and the Humpback Whales are now on there northerly migration and will be arriving in the next few weeks.
The Whaleshark season runs until mid July so come and join us to swim with the BIGGEST FISH in the ocean & have a once in a lifetime experience.
